Icom ceases production of IC706

News has filtered through from ICOM Japan that the very popular IC-706 Mark 2 G HF VHF UHF Transceiver has ceased production.

The WIA reports that advice has also been received from ICOM premium dealer Navcom Electronics that there are only 14 units currently held in stock in Australia and that this stock is expected to deplete rapidly. There is good news as well though, as from 16 November 2009 all ICOM amateur radio equipment is being backed with a 5 year warranty.

Thanks to Bazz VK4TBD at Navcom Electronics for most of this information.

Thanks to Keith (kg4zxk) for passing the news to w4car.org.
