Chesapeake’s Great Bridge Battlefield and Waterways History Foundation (GBB & WHF) will be presenting its 5th Annual Waterways Heritage Festival at the Great Bridge Lock Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th, 2014. Check the City of Chesapeake website or the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways History Foundation website at the right for more information. The club will be holding two events in support of the Festival.
On Saturday, October 4, 2014 the club will be conducting a Special Event from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the club’s shack. We will be using the club’s call sign to attract attention to the upcoming Festival. A certificate suitable for framing will be presented to each ham making contact with the club and requesting a certificate by logging their name, call sign, and email address on our website.
On Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th, 2014 the club will be manning a booth at the festival and demonstrating amateur radio. The table will have a visual presentation of early radio as well as demonstrating the capabilities of amateur radio. The club will also be part of the scavenger hunt for the kids set up by the foundation.
We will need help for these activities. Contact Duane Ettwein, KJ4YKG at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can spend a few hours.
