Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service has supported the American Diabetes Association with their Tour de Cure bike rides for raising awareness and money for diabetes research for more than 20 years.
When the ADA decided to start hosting the event in the neighboring city of Suffolk, Virginia, that support did not end. This is a group effort with amateurs from all clubs in the Hampton Roads area to provide communications support on the race course to get aid quickly to those riders that find themselves in distress and in need of immediate attention.
