As you can see from the above photo, Mother Nature has given us an opportunity to design a new antenna system. There should be lots of new ideas and plenty of discussion.

During the session Joe, K I 5 F J will be be giving a presentation on “Emergency Communications and Field Day”. Joe has experience in giving virtual video presentations. Last Saturday he successfully gave an interesting presentation to the Wisconsin Amateur Radio Club over GoToMeeting. Radio Amateurs from Virginia Beach and Germany attended the session.

The Extra Class training has also been going very well. In the middle of the course we had to switch from classroom to virtual sessions. The course was completed last Tuesday with Dennis Watson’s, K4DGW session on Solar Weather and Ionospheric Physics.
.
Despite these difficult times, we have one candidate so far, Mike Carey, KC4FLA pass his Extra Class exam. Congratulations, Mike!

How he was able to take the test with the “Social Distancing” rules will be an interesting topic for our Shack Day meeting.

CARS Extra Class Virtual Training Session
